UKHospitality is calling upon operators to invite local MPs in to their businesses in a bid to place hospitality at the heart of the election debates.
The industry body has created a pre-drafted letter which business owners can send directly to their MP to invite them into their premises to discuss how hospitality contributes to their constituency employment and economy.
The UKHospitality website reads: “We want to help you leave politicians in no doubt about the value of hospitality – a sector that is not only serving Britain with great meals, experiences and memories, but is also serving up rewarding careers, economic growth and vital investment. We can place hospitality at the heart of election debates.
“In hosting a visit, you can convey how hospitality is the glue that binds our communities together, creating places in which Britons want to work, live and invest.
“This election is a momentous opportunity to further cement and enhance how our sector is perceived by policymakers who can help us to thrive. Please help us to grasp that opportunity and drive hospitality to new heights and prosperity.”
