With every purchase of FriWite this September, the Q Partnership is planting trees.
The climate and climate change have defined recent decades and will continue to do so as a pivotal issue for our generation to tackle. The Q Partnership (Friars Pride, VA Whitley and Henry Colbeck) wants to do its part – with the industry’s help – to combat climate change in any way it can. That’s why throughout September 2022, with every 100 boxes of FriWite bought, it will plant 50 trees.
Why are trees so vital to the environment?
Trees not only aid in cleaning the air we breathe by taking in carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and nitrogen oxides – harmful greenhouse gases that damage the ozone layer. They also create oxygen as a by-product which is vital to all living life on our planet.
The effect on our air isn’t the only benefit. Trees play a vital role in capturing rainwater and as such, they reduce the risk of flooding and landslides. Their intricate roots filter the water, removing pollutants that would otherwise risk crop growth and wildlife sustainability. This process prevents harmful waterslide erosion and reduces the risk of over-saturation and flooding. The roots also slow down the absorption of water into the soil, meaning crops can survive longer periods with little to no rainfall.
Biodiversity is another incredible benefit that trees provide; a single tree can be home to hundreds of different species of insects, mammals, fungi, and plants. There are thousands of forest animals that require different kinds of food and shelter, and trees provide the bedrock for the ecosystem to grow and thrive. Without them, many species would become extinct.
Sustainability of FriWite
When the Q Partnership developed FriWite, it was driven by the desire to guarantee the industry sustainability with its exclusive products. Since its development, its philosophy has become vital to the long-term health of our planet. No product exemplifies the Q Partnership’s core goal of sustainability as aptly as FriWite frying oil. When operators fry with FriWite, they are guaranteed 100% sustainable Palm Oil certified by the RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil).
The members of the Q Partnership are three of the only distributors in the UK that are audited RSPO members. They are at the forefront of the drive to support the palm oil industry to evolve and strive to have the greatest positive impact it can on the climate. Therefore, when shops choose to use FriWite in their business, they can be confident that the supply chain has been audited to ensure they proudly proclaim to their customers that they are frying in palm oil that’s helping to ensure the protection of rainforests and climate alike.
The full supply chain, from growers to shops, follows strict standards that have been set out by the RSPO. For more information on the RSPO and what its goals and objectives are, visit www.rspo.org.

Help our climate with FriWite
Doing as much as we can to help our climate is as prevalent as ever – with rising global temperatures causing an array of issues such as drought, flooding and food price increases due to more difficult conditions for crop harvests. The Q Partnership wants to do everything it can and, with the industry’s help, it can have a positive effect on our climate. That’s why it is calling upon the industry to help it plant trees with every purchase of FriWite this September.
