A Northumberland-based mobile fish and chip business has completed a three-day collaboration with fashion giants Barbour and Paul Smith to help launch their Spring/Summer ’26 collection.
Frosty’s was called in to serve more than 900 portions of fish and chips across events in London, Leeds and Newcastle to promote the new line of jackets, t-shirts and caps said to be inspired by coastal culture.
The Frosty’s van was wrapped for the three Barbour loves Paul Smith events and featured co-branded packaging, including greaseproof paper and labelled sauce bottles. Fashion designer Sir Paul Smith even visited the van himself while it was stopped in London’s Covent Garden.
Frosty’s owner, Cameron Naylor, said he was first contacted by Barbour’s PR team while he was in Australia last year. “It was all very confidential at the start,” he said. “When we spoke to the PR and marketing teams, they explained they wanted a nostalgic seaside feel to the events. That’s what we do, so it felt like a good fit.”
The collaboration began just hours after Frosty’s was named Mobile Operator of the Year at the National Fish & Chip Awards 2026 in London. Cameron attended the ceremony on Wednesday before serving around 300 free portions of fish, chips and mushy peas in Covent Garden the following day.

From London, the van travelled to Sidney Street in Leeds on Saturday, before heading to Newcastle’s Grainger Street for its final stop on Sunday. Cameron described the logistics as challenging, with the van’s 56mph speed limiter meaning travel between destinations was slow going.
“It’s been one of the hardest weeks I’ve had, but also one of the proudest too,” said Cameron. “For a business like ours, which normally serves rural villages in Northumberland, to be associated with two huge British brands is great for fish and chips and great for us as a business.”
Cameron took over the round, which operates primarily across Northumberland’s rural communities, in 2021 before investing in a new, more modern van and a full rebrand.
Reflecting on being named Best Mobile Operator, Cameron said: “I was shocked. I wasn’t expecting it at all, especially as it was my first time attending the awards. I already had the collaboration in Covent Garden on my mind the following day, so there was a lot of anxiety around that. To then win was a real surprise.
“It was an amazing day. There were so many industry specialists in the room, it was a great opportunity to chat, share ideas and meet people from across the sector. I’m over the moon. But it’s back to the day job now.”
