Lamb Weston has opened a new production facility in Kruiningen, the Netherlands, increasing the company’s annual production capacity by 195 million kilos.

The facility will support the growing global demand for high quality frozen potato products and will see recruitment of 120 additional personal, adding to the existing 650 people already employed there.

Lamb Weston committed to the expansion more than five years ago as part of its vision for long-term, sustainable growth.  The new production plant is designed to ensure efficient use of raw materials, while also optimising consumption of water and heat to reduce emissions; process water from the plant undergoes purification for reuse, minimising the environmental impact.

Stephan van Kuik, senior vice president and general manager Lamb Weston EMEA, said: “This new factory is state-of-the-art, designed with future generations in mind, to be able to bring the world together with our fries, delivering our beloved potato products to more people around the globe.”

Lamb Weston is a leading supplier of frozen potato, sweet potato, appetiser and vegetable products to restaurants and retailers around the world.
