In response to a growing appetite for new flavours and varieties of pizza, Pan’Artisan has launched the Detroit Style Pizza Base which it likes to call “the connoisseur’s pizza”.
A premium product, the Detroit Style Pizza Base is made from a hand stretched Focaccia style dough which imparts a light and airy texture. Stretched in a rectangular shape to approximately 15” by 11”, the pizza has a deep base which even when filled with toppings is said to remain light and crispy on baking.
A descendant of Sicilian-style dough pizza, the Detroit Style Pizza Bases make a visually impressive sharing pizza, but also offer a great street food or sit down option served by the slice.
The bases can be individually defrosted for approx two hours at ambient temperature, or overnight in a chiller. They can then be divided into individual portions or can be topped as a whole pizza. The bases are supplied frozen in cases of eight and are suitable for both vegans and vegetarians.
