How long have you worked at The Cod’s Scallops?
I’ve worked for the Cod’s for almost four years. I had a successful personal Instagram account and have always loved making content, which is why I was asked to come on board at The Cod’s Scallops. I had no training for the job and just got stuck in.
What are your responsibilities?
I look after all the social media for the company. I create and edit the content and I post across the different platforms, which include Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.
What’s your favourite part of the job?
My favourite part of the job is that I get to work with so many amazing people. I feel really lucky that all the crew make my job so easy by letting me get in their faces with my phone to take photos and film them. They never know when I’m going to show up and they haven’t got sick of me yet. I also film a recipe with John every week which we share on our socials. It really doesn’t feel like work – and I get to eat the amazing food he’s made. Win-win!

What’s your least favourite part of the job?
The constant temptation of all the incredible food. You would think I would be sick of fish and chips by now but the love is still going strong.
What is it that you like about working at The Cod’s Scallops?
I get such a buzz from seeing a piece of content that I’ve created go viral. A recent reel got millions of views, and that feels like such a win for the business. Since starting at The Cod’s Scallops my job has evolved and I now do quite a bit of buying and styling for the restaurants, which is right up my street. No two days are ever the same.
How do you feel about being nominated as an Unsung Hero?
It’s absolutely epic and such an honour. Everyone that works at The Cod’s Scallops is incredible at what they do and each of them brings something unique to our business. I’m just so glad I’m here with them. I really do love what I do, and getting recognition for that is bloody brilliant.
