A fish and chip shop is the latest building in London this week to feature a mural by the infamous street artist Banksy.
The silhouette of two pelicans, one eating a fish and the other pecking at the fish symbols on the shop’s yellow sign, was discovered above Bonners Fish Bar in Walthamstow, northeast London, by staff this morning.
In an Instagram post, the shop said: “So proud to have a @banksy on the side of our shop! Thank you for choosing us, and Walthamstow to showcase your talent.”
The street artist confirmed it was his work in an Instagram post this morning. It is Banky’s fifth artwork to appear in London this week. One, a silhouette of a howling wolf painted on a satellite dish in Peckham, southeast London, was stolen just hours after it appeared.
