SPICH SAUCE REFINED and#8211 RESTAURANT

Keejays has launched a new sauce which it says will turn the condiment market on its head – almost literally – with the launch of Spich.

Spich is chips spelt in reverse – give or take a letter – because, much like the sauce itself, Keejays didn’t want to do things the obvious way.

Created specifically for the fish and chip market, Spich boasts a deep, savoury umami flavour with a mild sweetness and a gentle peppery warmth. It is said to enhance the flavour of fish and work well with chips, while adding something distinctive without straying away from what customers already love about a classic chippy meal.

Jon Kingsbury, national sales manager at Keejays, comments: “When we looked at what’s currently on offer – gravy, curry sauce, ketchup, mayo – there hasn’t really been anything new that genuinely complements the dish itself. Spich is familiar enough to feel safe, but different enough to stand out, and, once people try it, it becomes a talking point rather than just another sauce on the counter.”

Spich is available in 350g top-down plastic bottles. Keejay’s says the product and packaging are designed to feel premium while offering chip shops a point of difference without changing their core menu or adding significant cost.
