Twenty has now become 10 as the shops still in the running for the Takeaway of the Year category at the National Fish and Chip Awards 2023 have been announced.
Following a Zoom call to determine the top 10, an anonymous panel of industry experts will now judge the remaining takeaways to determine the winner with the result announced at The National Fish and Chip Awards 2023 in London on 28th February 2023.
The businesses shortlisted are:
● Fishermans Bay, Whitley Bay
● Fish Kitchen 1854, Maesycwmmer
● Whiteheads Fish and Chips Ltd, Hornsea
● Shipdeck, Trethomas
● The Bearded Sailor, Pudsey
● The Fish Bank, Sherburn in Elmet
● Low’s Traditional Fish & Chips, Westhill
● The Oyster Shell, Bath
● Auckley Friery, Doncaster
● The Fish Works, Largs
Andrew Crook, president at the NFFF, comments: “It was a tricky job whittling down the top twenty to the top ten, but the chosen takeaways have demonstrated a clear reason as to why they are deserving of this accolade. All finalists should be extremely proud and our judges are looking forward to getting stuck into the next set of judging!”
