Middleton Foods has announced the finalists in the running for The Peter Hill Award 2024 and in line to scoop £15,000 worth of prizes.

The six shops going forward are:

Salt Fish & Chips, Seascale, Cumbria

The award, launched in memory of Middleton Foods’ late CEO, Peter Hill, is in its second year. Last year it went to Oliver’s Chippy in Warton, Lancashire.

Announcing the finalists, Ryan Baker, sales manager at Middleton Foods, said: “We launched The Peter Hill Award last year in memory of our great friend and CEO, Peter Hill. Following its tremendous success, we decided to bring it back – even bigger than before, with a phenomenal ‘money-can’t buy’ set of prizes worth over £15,000! I’d like to thank everyone who has been involved with the award – from the judges to those who took the time to enter. Once again, we have received a fantastic number of entries, and I’m thrilled to announce this year’s six finalists.”

The winner and runners-up of The Peter Hill Award 2024 will be announced by the end of November, following the next stage in judging – a personal visit from Nikki Williams, field sales manager, KFE.

The winner will receive a prize package worth over £15,000 which includes £1,000 worth of Middleton Foods stock; design of their own, ‘own label’ bespoke batter mix, two places at the KFE School of Frying Excellence, two places on the NFFF Fish Frying course, plus much more.

Each of the runners-up will receive two places at the KFE School of Frying Excellence and £300 worth of Middleton Foods stock.
