Punters at a pub in Bangor, North Wales, can now enjoy portions of fish and chips with their pints after the landlords refurbished the premises and incorporated a chip shop.

The Tap and Smile, which closed its doors in August, has reopened as Tafarn Y Garth, serving fish and chips from 12noon until 9pm.

Digital menus across the top of the bar promote the full chip shop offering including fish, chips and mushy peas, as well as chip baps, pickled onions, cockles and sausages.

A portion of fish and chips costs £9.50.

A competition was run to rename the pub with the winner getting free fish and chips every week for a year.
