Wholesaler JJ Foodservice is to open a new branch in Wimbledon in January 2024 as it seeks to expand its presence in London.
The building at 19-21 Lyon Road – JJ Foodservice’s 12th UK branch – boasts a spacious 33,965sq ft warehouse and 3,950sq ft of modern offices.
It has been designed with cutting-edge energy-efficient features including electric vehicle charging points and PV roof-mounted panels for solar energy in line with its commitment to sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint. What’s more, the site has achieved an ‘excellent rating’ for the Environmental Performance Certificate (EPC) and the Green Building Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM), recognising the building’s environmental performance and sustainable design.
Kaan Hendekli, chief operating officer of the company, said, “Wimbledon’s vibrant and diverse community, coupled with its rich cultural heritage, makes it an ideal location for our expansion into London. The area is known for its thriving local businesses, which presents exciting growth opportunities for us and our supplier partners.”
The opening will create more than 50 new jobs and is part of JJ’s plan to expand its presence in London.
“We are ready to grow – if you have a freehold site with warehouse space ranging from 20,000 to 50,000 sq ft, we would love to hear from you,” adds Kaan.
