Taylor UK has teamed up with two of the UK’s leading ice cream ingredient suppliers to launch Gelato Academy, giving operators a chance to learn about the equipment and ingredients needed to add the popular Italian dessert to their menus.
Taylor UK, a distributor of the Italian-made Frigomat gelato equipment, has partnered with NIC Ice and Antonelli, which both supply ice cream cones, ingredients and decorations, to create a UK-wide network of demonstration kitchens in Ipswich, East Kilbride, Hammersmith, Barking, Bodmin and Eccles.
The Gelato Academy courses are free to attend and explain all aspects of starting and building a successful gelato business, plus how to make great gelato, from creating an exciting menu of unique flavours to experiencing the Frigomat pasteurisers and batch freezers needed to make, store and display it.
David Rees, marketing manager of Taylor UK, says: “Ice cream and gelato are always popular, especially in summer. The Gelato Academy combines expertise from the best in the industry to provide anyone interested in getting into the business with everything they need to know.”
Gelato shops are becoming increasingly common sights on Britain’s high streets and with less sugar and less fat than standard ice cream, Taylor UK says it is becoming a popular choice for consumers looking for a healthier treat.
