Nearly three-quarters (74%) of independent restaurants are seeking cost-saving ideas for 2025, according to a survey by wholesaler JJ Foodservice.
The Big Customer Survey, which quizzed 249 foodservice customers, also reveals that a third (35%) are planning to diversify their menus in the year ahead and 36% plan to open new locations.
In response, JJ Foodservice is doubling down on its customer-focused initiatives.
Its Mix & Save promotion, launched in November with P&G Professional to help restaurants save by shopping in bulk, has now expanded to include Britvic and Coca-Cola branded drinks as well as fresh fruits and vegetables. Further products are expected to be added in 2025.
To further support customers, JJ Foodservice is launching The Kitchen, what it describes as a “state-of-the-art” commercial space at its Enfield HQ.
Opening in early 2025, The Kitchen will showcase cost-saving products, including JJ’s own-brand range and supplier collaborations, while inspiring new recipe ideas for menus.
Baris Kacar, chief sales officer at JJ Foodservice, comments: “2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year for the independent restaurant and takeaway sector, particularly in London.
“We know value and menu innovation are key for our customers, and we’re committed to supporting them with solutions like Mix & Save and inspiration through The Kitchen.”
