Introducing Hopkins’ new electric induction range, a world’s first – innovation in action

Leigh Honeyball of The Boathouse in Hythe, Kent, husband Richard and business partner Cieron were in the market for a new electric range. The plans had been made, specs agreed, order placed and, importantly, the delivery date set, all done and dusted with Hopkins. Job done.

Weeks from delivery the subject of electricity supply was being discussed with the electrician. The issue: not enough juice in the wires to power a three pan electric range. Was this fate, poor planning or kismet?

It turns out a new electrical supply would be needed which would take thousands of pounds and months to organise. This spelt disaster for the team at The Boathouse as the agreed launch date would be blown and that would cost the business thousands in lost revenue, not to mention disappointed customers.

Leigh is well-known for her high standards, commitment to excellence and a passion for their product that goes above and beyond. She is a self confessed control freak – it has to be right, nothing else will do!

In comes Ferhat Akkaya and the team at Hopkins. As the range was already in production, a gas or LPG range was out of the question if the deadline was to be kept.

Knight in shining armour to the rescue

Hopkins had been R&D testing an all new electric induction range since 2020. Induction technology used in commercial ranges is a breakthrough in terms of both energy requirements, performance and costs savings.

Hopkins proposed their new induction range. It would be a challenge, it would take some redesign, it would take all hands on deck, but it could and would be done. The team at The Boathouse said, ‘yes, let’s do it!’.

Leigh says she could not expect more from the Hopkins team, noting how they flexed up, got organised and delivered well beyond expectations. “The team at Hopkins did not put a foot wrong, we are astonished and delighted at our new acquisition. We also love our new Oil Master Pro oil filtration unit, it’s been an amazing and valuable piece of equipment that allows our oil to last much longer and saves us money. It’s a total godsend. “

Proof in the pudding

Well, what’s the new induction range like to use Leigh?

“We love it. It’s amazing, the recovery is unlike anything we have seen before, it’s easy to use and so far so good. We are all really chuffed, thank you to all the team at Hopkins. Our product is better than ever!”
