Job Title: Customer server
Age: 60
Nominated by: Shop manager Sonny Lee, who says: “Jane is a credit to our business and it’s her 30th anniversary working for us this year which is an achievement in itself! What are your responsibilities?
Preparing many of the shop’s signature sides, such as curry sauce and pea fritters, as well as serving customers and keeping the shop clean.
What’s your favourite part of the job?
Talking to the customers, especially the older ones as they are always willing to tell me the history of the village.

What’s your least favourite part of the job?
Working on dark winter nights as I hate leaving the warmth of the house to go out in the cold!
What is it that you like about working at J-Henry’s?
I love the fact that it is a family-run business and from the start of my employment the family has understood and facilitated my family commitments.
How do you feel about being nominated as an Unsung Hero?
I’m not one for the limelight but I’m very honoured and feel grateful to have been nominated.
