Unox City Launch Mid 4

Professional oven manufacturer Unox has inaugurated its new €100 million Unox City in Padua, Italy. The 130,000m² complex brings together production facilities, a logistics hub, an Innovation Hub, and an Experience Hub, marking a significant step in the company’s expansion.

Founded 35 years ago in Padua, Unox has developed a vertically integrated industrial system that it says has enabled the company to navigate recent global supply chain crises while continuing to grow market share.

From sheet metal processing to the design and production of electronic boards, molds, and plastic components, as well as the development of detergents and trays, research and development are placed side by side with manufacturing, ensuring innovation and quality throughout the supply chain.

The 20,000 m² Innovation Hub employs more than 120 people and includes test kitchens, laboratories, and a Food Digitalisation Lab that works on transforming food data into algorithms.

Adjacent to the Innovation Hub, two 21,000 m² factories house automated production lines, 27 loading bays, vertical warehouses, and logistics systems aimed at reducing shipping times. The Experience Hub offers demonstration kitchens, testing areas, and training rooms for customers.

Unox City incorporates several sustainability measures, including renewable energy sources covering 99% of its energy needs, rainwater harvesting systems, and the planting of more than 23,000 trees.

Commenting on the inauguration of Unox City, which began more than a decade ago, chairman and founder Enrico Franzolin, said: “Since the 1990s, when many companies were relocating abroad, we made a different choice: to stay and invest in our region, building a local and integrated production system. Unox City is the culmination of a strategy that has allowed us to keep our supply chain in Italy, strengthen a vertically integrated industrial model, and create new opportunities for work and growth for hundreds of people.”
