Just Eat takeaway.com will be trialing a new AI-powered assistant on its UK customers.
The app feature is designed to give takeaway lovers more ways to order and save time by being able to build and customise orders through text and voice ordering.
The assistant will first be piloted in the UK in the next few weeks among customers that opt-in, with plans to roll this out to more countries globally and to test it in several languages over the coming months.
The move is part of the online food delivery platform’s commitment to continually evolve its technology, building on the trial of robot deliveries in the US and Poland, as well as delivery by drone in Ireland and the Netherlands.
In a statement, Just Eat said: “We are forever exploring new technologies from using robotics technology and testing new features to always be ahead of what’s coming next. Overall, this will help the business in driving an enhanced experience for consumers and partners across the world.”
