Caterers across the UK and Ireland can now access natural, plastic-free packaging through Bunzl, the exclusive distributor of Huhtamaki’s Taste hot food boxes.
These premium boxes feature Morro Coating, a plant-based barrier developed by materials innovation company Xampla. Certified plastic-free under the European SUP Directive, the coating is said to offer excellent grease and leak resistance while still maintaining the recyclability of the packaging.
Manufactured in the UK from responsibly sourced papers, the boxes come in various sizes and are embossed with the Morro marque to highlight their plant-based coating.
Morro Coating is already in use across Europe, with Just Eat Takeaway.com rolling out Morro-coated delivery boxes to more than 40,000 restaurant partners in Germany.
