Are you ready for Veganuary next month? With more customers searching out plant-based options each year, here are some of the latest launches to bring your menu up-to-date
Pukka rebrands to Plant-Based

Pukka has rebranded its popular vegan pie range, now proudly named Plant-Based.
This change allows Pukka to appeal to even more people, including flexitarians and meat reducers. The new name is joined by a fresh design with stronger colour blocking to improve recognition and differentiation against its core range.
The pies themselves have not changed. Minced No Steak & Onion Pie combines minced soya with onions and rich onion gravy, in a light puff pastry case – while No Chicken & Mushroom Pie features soya chunks with sliced mushrooms and plant-based cream sauce, in a light puff pastry case. They are available in cases of 12 frozen wrapped pies.

Are you looking to upgrade your plant-based menu with a new chicken-style option? Try Garden Gourmet Sensational Pulled Fillet! from Nestlé Professional.
This pulled vegan-style meat has a juicy bite, a taste, and a light aroma that replicates that of chicken thighs. The varied-size pieces have a fibrous texture similar to chicken. These soft, light fibres have greater surface areas, perfect for absorbing flavours and sauces.
The vegan shredded chicken-style fillet is versatile and ready to eat. Try it in salads, sandwiches, wraps, pasta, stir fries and lots more. Supplied frozen in 3x2kg, each 2kg contains approximately 25 servings of 80g. For vegan-style shredded meat inspiration, try one of its recipe ideas.

Jackfruit Wingz are a winner

For operators looking to substitute traditionally meaty dishes for more vegan options, Funnybones Foodservice offers a range of solutions including Jackfruit Wingz.
Made with BBQ-seasoned jackfruit, before being coated in a crispy panko breadcrumb, they are speared on a sugarcane ‘bone’ so they can be picked up and eaten just like traditional wings.
Meanwhile, Funnybones cauliflower wings offer a more veg-focused alternative. Coated in a fine quinoa crumb, these tasty bites have the advantage of also being gluten-free. Simply cook and toss in the customers’ choice of sauce. Funnybones’ take on the iconic Buffalo Wing Sauce is vegan-friendly, so there’s no need to go without this staple for Veganuary.

Have it with hash browns

Aviko has relaunched its Hash Brown Bites – a versatile vegan and gluten-free offering.
Like the much-loved American Tater-Tot (but better), the bites can be ready to serve from frozen in 3.5 minutes when fried, so operators can benefit from their quick and easy preparation time. Their versatility means they can be topped with a host of vegan-friendly ingredients – why not swap out dairy cheese for a plant-based alternative, or try spiced mushrooms instead of pulled pork?
Perfect for convenient grab-and-go options, as well as takeaway, Aviko’s Hash Brown Bites work across all dayparts – from breakfast to midday snacks, to dinner.
