Heinz is celebrating after wrapping up its SqueezMe! promotion which saw 20 fish and chip shops share in a £20,000 prize fund
Heinz launched its SqueezMe! competition in May as a way of helping chippies feeling the squeeze following a raft of rising ingredient, energy and labour costs. Shops that bought a case of Heinz SqueezMe! through T.Quality, Friars Pride, VA Whitley or Henry Colbeck were entered into a prize draw, with 20 winners each receiving £1,000 wholesaler credit.
One of the lucky winners was Walkers Fish & Chips in Padstow, Devon. Manager Dave Gumbis said: “We’ve been using Heinz SqueezMe! for forever, since I’ve been working here at least, which is 15 years. Our customers like them and Heinz is a recognised brand.
“We’re really pleased to have won, every little helps right now. I think we’ll spend the £1,000 buying more Heinz SqueezMe!”
Commenting on the success of the Heinz SqueezMe! competition, Harry Agnew, national account manager for Heinz, said: “We are delighted to have shared our £20,000 prize pot with 20 hardworking and well-deserving chippies from across the UK. With an extra £1,000 in their businesses, it should go some way to relieve the pressure as foodservice inflation continues to rise and margins are squeezed.
“This is the largest foodservice prize fund we’ve ever given away, and going in and sharing the news with the winners was as exciting for us as it was for those lucky shops! We’d like to thank everyone that took part and for remaining loyal to Heinz during these tough times.”
The preferred condiment when eating out, Heinz SqueezMe! is available in five popular varieties – Tomato Ketchup, Mayonnaise, HP Original, Tartare Sauce and Garlic Sauce – in 26ml easy-to-open, non-drip pods.
Containing three times the amount of sauce compared with traditional sachets, Heinz SqueezMe! offers value for money with the reassurance of a high quality, market-leading brand.
