She puts 100% into our customers and always looks for new challenges, growing the business from one van to two. She also comes home at night and gets everything sorted with the kids after a very very busy night on the van.”
How long have you worked at Howe & Co 19?
I have worked for Howe and Co 19 for five and a half years. I originally started to help my partner set up the business and then the plan was to go back to childcare, which I had always done before. However, I love the job and, well, here I still am!
What are your responsibilites?
Everything, from cooking, cleaning and organising the staff.
What’s your favourite part of the job?
I love getting out on the road and meeting new customers.
What’s your least favourite part of the job?
There’s not much I don’t like about the job so it would have to be the really hot days! They can be a killer.
What is it that you like about working at Howe & Co 19?
I get to work with my partner, which sometimes can be the only time we spend together. I also like working there as it can feel rewarding at times, providing a service to people who can’t get out like the elderly and disabled.
How do you feel about being nominated as an unsung hero?
It’s so nice to know that my hard work is noticed. We have three children so I’m always on the go. Managing work and school runs with the funny hours we do can be quite challenging and sometimes overwhelming, and it can feel like no one notices, so this is amazing and I thank my partner Richard for putting me forward.
