Captain D’s, the American seafood chain with more than 530 restaurants across the US and Canada, is making its UK debut this month in Broadstairs, Kent.
The first UK location will open on Monday 20th October at Westwood Cross Shopping Centre and will offer a variety of seafood dishes including fire grilled and hand-breaded options. Batter-dipped fish (classic and spicy), hand-breaded chicken tenders, and hush puppies – a classic Southern side making its UK debut – are a few of the items Captain D’s is excited to share with its UK guests alongside cheesy fries and milkshakes.
The restaurant, which features a fresh new colour palette to that of its US counterparts, sits within a leisure complex that includes Hollywood Bowl, AirHop Trampoline Park, Riparo Lounge and Taco Bell.
Founded in 1969 in Donelson, Tennessee, Captain D’s has grown to over 530 restaurants across 23 US states, earning a loyal following for its affordable, high quality seafood and chicken menu.

Renowned as one of America’s leading fast-casual restaurant brands, the Broadstairs opening is just the beginning for Captain D’s in the UK. It has two additional UK restaurants planned for Sussex and Hampshire, signalling strong momentum in its international growth strategy.
Hair Parra, SVP of international operations and development at Captain D’s, said: “We are thrilled to be opening our first UK location and to share this exciting new design and menu with guests in Broadstairs.
“This opening represents the future of our brand – one that blends our heritage with innovation and sets the stage for Captain D’s global growth.”
UK chairman of Captain D’s, Daryl Stutchbury, added “Captain D’s isn’t just another fast food outlet, it’s a premium experience rooted in quality, community, and innovation.
“We’re proud to be setting the stage here in Kent and can’t wait to welcome our first guests.”
