Buying British

Taking great pride in its British heritage, Pro Fry MD Paul Newbold looks over some of its vehicles' key features and explains how it supports other local businesses

With our bespoke fish and chip vans, it was very important to us to carefully select products that not only work to a high standard with superb quality but also to ensure we’re supporting other local businesses here within the UK.

We are all aware of the British vote, and knowing the uncertain future with the single market, you can rest easy knowing the majority of our products are British sourced and British built.

Here are few examples of the key products used in our British built fish and chip vans.

Firstly, the coach-built box on the back of the van is one of the main components where each business owner will spend most of their time while serving customers. After locating this right here in Great Britain, and seeing first-hand the high quality, we knew these were perfect for our customers.

The next key part of the fish and chip van is the frying range. This was important to get right as you want a fast turnaround with goods along with being reliable. This is why we went with the Regal range. They are built to a high standard using stainless steel along with being manufactured here in the UK. They have a twin burner system under each pan to allow fast recovery. They are also built with the user in mind, allowing maximum space without sacrificing the pan space.

We also provide an amazing oil filtration system which was something we knew our customers needed to allow a maximum lifespan for the oil, along with savouring the taste and colour without having to replace the oil each week. Again, we went for a British built machine, not only to support a local business but also because this machine does exactly what it's meant to, allowing even the finest bits of carbon and debris to be removed from the pan.

Many of the appliances we fit inside the vans we build are also built here. For example, the bain marie and griddle, which again have been prior tested by us to make sure we are fully confident in their abilities and quality.

As a business owner, it’s important to us to support our locals. We have seen the hard work that each person who builds these items puts in to the product to ensure a quality build. We hope you also continue to support local businesses here within Great Britain and continue to support Pro Fry, a traditional British fish and chip van manufacturer.
