Eric’s to open two new restaurants this spring

Following a successful five years in Thornham, North Norfolk, Eric’s Fish & Chips is opening two new sites this spring.

The first, in the village of Holt some 20 miles from Thornham, will feature a small 25 seater restaurant and takeaway, with a menu similar to the original but with the addition of some lighter lunch options.

The second takes Eric’s out of North Norfolk to the town of St Ives in Cambridgeshire where it will open a much larger site in a new build on a new development. It will include a 60 cover restaurant and takeaway as well as an indoor kids area and ice cream bar. The menu here will also feature Eric’s favourites, but with a few lighter lunch options and salads due to the number of businesses and offices which are close by.

Both sites will have their own identity while including ties to the original in Thornham, which was opened in 2014 by chef and restaurateur Eric Snaith.

Eric comments: “I’ve always planned to do more than one Eric’s so have been looking for opportunities for quite a while. I’ve always liked Holt and I think we will add something different to what is currently there, the restaurant is in a great location in the heart of the town.

“St Ives, meanwhile, is a great opportunity to do something outside of Norfolk. It's a town that is on the up with steady growth and we believe it’s ready for a restaurant and takeaway in our style. The site has a great position in the town.”

Employing approximately 20 staff, the openings not only create new employment opportunities but also promotion within the existing team, with Eric adding: “It’s right to grow for our team as well. The two sites will be managed by current staff who have been with us from the start, so it gives them the opportunity to progress in their careers.”
