Seafood Restaurant of the Year open for entries

Entry for this year’s Seafood Restaurant of the Year Competition is now open.

Organised by Seafish, the competition endeavours to seek out restaurants, bistros, cafes and other eateries that are demonstrating both excellent examples of the cooking and serving of fish and shellfish, and evidence of fish and shellfish knowledge.

Judges will be looking for clear evidence of responsible sourcing of sustainable raw ingredients, successful fish and shellfish promotion on menus, excellent levels of product knowledge both front and back of house, and examples of how customers are encouraged to eat fish and shellfish.

They will also be looking out for a good variety of seafood choices on menus - not just the five main species salmon, tuna, cod, haddock and prawns.

The winning outlet has the choice of taking part in an all-expenses paid study trip to Brixham, Devon, or to Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, to learn about the catching, processing and supply of seafood in the UK.

Other prizes include vouchers to be redeemed against cookery equipment and signed copies of cookery books.

Entry closes on 7th July 2018. Click here to download an entry form.
