FOODit improves features to drive online sales



Restaurant website builder FOODit has launched a range of new features for restaurant and takeaway customers to increase online sales.

Examples include giving diners the option to ‘add a free side or drink with orders over £20’ or ‘10% off with orders over £15’.

Customers can also now leave feedback on specific dishes – helping businesses to know where to make tweaks - while a new FOODit App enables diners to order from their favourite local FOODit takeaway in just a few taps. The website speed has also been increased making it quicker and easier for diners to order.

In addition, restaurants and takeaways have access to new and improved, personalised POS, sales and customer data to build personalised marketing campaigns, plus a new FOODit YouTube channel is available, featuring a series of video case studies including one on Watford-based fish and chip shop The Meriden.

Coming soon to the website is a buy one get one free option, which is a great way to drive traffic during quiet periods.

Senior product manager, Paul Sharp, comments: “The top performing restaurants and takeaways all use special offers to encourage diners to order directly from their website. Now, with our new BackOffice feature, they can instantly add promotions in just a few clicks.”

FOODit, a JJ Food Service company, puts fish and chip shops online with their own transactional websites, social media and marketing support and help to be found on search engines like Google. 

According to the company’s figures, these added-value benefits have helped to increase sales generated by FOODit websites by 25% in week 35 of 2017, compared with the same period the previous year.
