Figaro's finds KFE’s expertise invaluable

Paul Uppal and his son Hardeep own a busy convenience store in Old Kilpatrick, a village in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland. Last year, they identified a gap in the market for good quality fish and chips, so they purchased the local shop, closed it down and refitted it to a very high standard. They extended by building a restaurant next door which serves pizza, bread, wraps and of, course, fish and chips.

Before deciding on the range for their new business, Figaro's Fish & Chips, Paul and Hardeep visited KFE's Qbtec factory in Holland with Scottish area sales manager Gordon Hillan to see how the company makes its ranges

Hardeep comments: “Our journey with KFE from start to finish has been excellent. As this was our first venture into the fish and chip sector, I cannot thank Gordon and the team enough for the amount of guidance and support they have provided every step of the way.

“A range is one of the most important aspects to a fish and chip shop.  As business owners our vision and our nature is always to provide quality and without the correct technology, mind-set and investment we believe it makes it extremely difficult to succeed in this line of business.

‘We visited the Qbtec factory in Holland and I was amazed at the production unit, as soon as I saw the process, thought and technology that goes in to producing every range without any expense spared, I knew our vision and work ethic was the same.”

The pair decided on a 3 pan Kiremko wall range to open the shop up and create a level of theatre for its customers. Before opening they also attended a two day training course at The KFE School of Frying Excellence with trainers Gordon Hillan, Nigel Hodgson and Garry Rosser.

Hardeep adds: “The installation of the range was seamless and the team worked alongside us to make sure everything was perfect.  I am 100% certain I made the correct decision in choosing KFE and I look forward to having a long relationship in business together.”
