A pizza that can be popped in the toaster and is ready in just three minutes has been launched by frozen pizza brand Chicago Town.
The cheese and tomato variety is said to be aimed at those with a busy lifestyle and is expected to be popular as a lunchtime, after school pre-dinner or late night snack. It uses a unique blend of tilsit and mozzarella cheese that has a naturally higher melting threshold, meaning that when cooked as per the instructions, it sticks to the toastie base and not the toaster.
It is currently only available in retail through Tesco and Asda stores and will later be rolled out across other major supermarkets.
Richard Cooper, senior brand manager for Chicago Town at Dr. Oetker, said: “We’re excited to be the first UK pizza brand to launch this unique product.
“It’s a new and convenient solution to enjoying a pizza snack on the go, and it’s a great addition to our existing product portfolio.
