Friars Pride has secured its sixth depot having purchased the business and assets of Plymouth Agencies, a leading supplier to fast food outlets across Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset.
Described as being an important milestone for the wholesaler, securing its delivery routes into the South West, it joins Friars Prides' other depots in Peterborough, Nottingham, Norwich, Basildon and Poole, and expands its geographical reach to an area that stretches from the Midlands, South Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, the East of England, London, the South, the South East and the South West. The move also strengthens the delivery area of The Q Partnership Ltd, with the ability to deliver from Lands End to John O’Groats.
The Plymouth depot will now see a multi-million pound investment in infrastructure, including a new fleet for delivery before the end of the year, and the installation of freezers to enable the introduction of frozen goods.
Friars Pride is delighted that both Yvonne and Leann Furzeland are remaining with the business, joining the rest of the team at Plymouth, while Steve and Danielle Furzeland will remain until the end of November.
For customers of Plymouth Agencies, all the familiar contact people and their contact details remain unchanged and Friars Pride intends to continue to service customer requirements exactly as before.
