Brakes’ dessert range just got sweeter

has added a twist to a number of classic British recipes to develop four new desserts which it claims are inline with current food trends. 

Fig, Pistachio and Honey Cheesecake is presliced into 12 portions for ease of serving and features a biscuit base, layered with honey infused cheesecake and sprinkled with fresh figs.

Second up is a Caramel Brownie Stack, which combines Belgian chocolate, golden syrup and soft brownie. Offering 32 pre-sliced portions per bake, this pudding is an indulgent and popular chocolate choice for any menu.

Brakes’ Berry Meringue Pie, meanwhile, combines a sweet baked pastry case, fruity blackberry filling and light fluffy meringue topping for a vibrant and visually appealing summer dish.

And finally, inspired by the nation’s love of American cookie-themed desserts is Cookie Crusted Banoffee Cheesecake. A handspun American digestive cookie crust is topped with banana cheesecake, West Country cream and milk chocolate shavings, it is pre-cut with 14 portions per cake.

Commenting on the new desserts, Petra Zargarani, Brakes’ head of product marketing, said: “We’re very excited to launch these new desserts, as they both use classic British ingredients with a modern twist which will suit any menu.

“Puddings are a great way to deliver incremental income and are excellent margin drivers, but most importantly, they can create a point of difference to enhance the overall customer dining experience, and we feel these options will really tempt diners.”
