Miller’s shortlisted for top tourism award



Miller’s Fish and Chips in Haxby, Yorkshire, has been shortlisted as a finalist in the White Rose Awards.


The awards are the biggest celebration of tourism in the UK and recognise the very best businesses in Yorkshire. The 17 categories cover everything from hotels to holiday parks, pubs to producers and arts to attractions.

Miller’s is the only fish and chip shop in the final and it will be competing against five other entrants in the Taste of Yorkshire category.

The category celebrates independent businesses within the tourism industry with a focus on serving food and drink, with the judging criteria focusing on the use of local produce, creative marketing, and consistent quality in the delivery and presentation of food.

Nick Miller, who co-owns Miller’s Fish and Chips in Haxby with his father David, said: “As the only fish and chip shop shortlisted as a finalist in the awards, we’re proud to be flying the flag for fish and chips. To be shortlisted in the Taste of Yorkshire category alongside some of the finest independent food retailers in the region really means a lot to us.

Nick and David will join more than a thousand people at the awards ceremony at the First Direct Arena in Leeds on Monday 30th October.
