New factory doubles output for Burger Manufacturing Company



The Burger Manufacturing Company
has opened a new £4million purpose-built factory in Llanelwedd, Builth Wells, Powys.


Spanning 3,670m2, the facility is kitted out with state-of-the-art technology and is already producing 490 burgers a minute, double what the previous site could achieve. However, it is anticipated this will increase to well over 1,000 a minute  in the near future.

The new production lines work seven hours a day five days a week manufacturing 100% beef products, including a fully endorsed Halal Monitoring Committee (HMC) burger. As well as suppling restaurants and hotels in the UK, the company also exports its burgers to countries such as Gibraltar, Spain, France and Dubai.

Incorporating a new R&D facility, the company has already developed new gourmet products targeted at higher end restaurants and eateries.



Mark Cornall, sales and marketing manager at The Burger Manufacturing Company, comments: “For the last 18 months we’ve had no extra capacity and we’ve really been treading water. With the investment in this new facility we can increase production for existing and new customers while developing new and exciting products for a range of markets.

“It also means fish and chip shop owners can buy a quality burger made in the UK.”

The new factory was opened by First Minister Carwyn Jones, who opened the original neighbouring facility in 2000.
